Mark Lackey
Mark is Sales and Management for Purcell Tire and has been with the company for over 41 years.
I was hired In Little Rock in August of 1984 by Dennis Flynn who I worked very close with early on. Together we developed a lot of commercial and OTR business in the Arkansas market. In those years, I sold OTR tires then had to mount them. Not much different from today. One interesting story was: one late summer afternoon I had mounted eight 1800-33 haul truck tires a customer from 90 miles away need two 992 loader tires that evening. Dennis was visiting the store and asked what I told him. I told him I would be there asap about 8:00 pm. Dennis responded, "I’m going with you." 😮😊 As usual, nothing goes right when you need to and a 3–4-hour job turned into a 6-hour job. Anyway, we got back to the store at about 2:30 in the morning. I have never forgotten that evening together working and sweating and trying to figure out a way to get the job done. Hey, it’s Purcell Tire . That’s who we are. Lastly, I cannot describe in words the love I have for Bob and Juanita. They have treated me and some others I know as a son. Some of the heroes that influenced me in my career, Dennis Flynn, Joe Jackson, Gene Williams, Brian Hayes, and Jim Carrow. There are others.
