Sam Ungricht
Sam is a Semi-Retiree for Purcell Tire and does Special Projects.
This will actually be my 45th year with Purcell Tire company. I started here 45 years ago in the position of a commercial salesmen in the Salt Lake City market. After which as the market grew and we had more salesmen, I was asked to take the sales manager role, which I did for several years. After that I assumed the helm of general manager of the center and did that for many years. During that tenure I was also asked to help with the region of other stores, New Mexico and Arizona. I did that for a few years until Bob and Juanita Purcell asked me to relocate to Phoenix, Arizona to assume senior management duties of our Phoenix corporate office. I did that for a few years until we had upper management changes, and I was asked to take the role of Senior Vice President of National Sales. At which time I was responsible for all the stores in the company, with the exclusion of the retreading division. I did that for a number of years until I reached the age where I thought it was time to retire and when I went to the Purcell’s and Roger Lucas, CEO and President, they didn't want to hear that so we came to an understanding and agreement that I would stay on in a semi-retirement role and serve a role working in special projects mostly acquisitions. And I also keep all the stores and the salesmen apprised with their progress and where they need to be.
