Employee Story
Nick French
I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management in 2007 and began looking for local opportunities. My uncle, a recent retiree from the Doe Run Company, suggested I reach out to Purcell Tire. His interactions with many Purcell employees over the years left him with the impression that Purcell Tire was a great company to work for. I dropped off my resume and was hired one week later as a Benefits Specialist. The company gave me room to grow and exposed me very quickly to the parts of the business most never think about. I was promoted into a management position a few years later after I earned a Master’s Degree in HR Management and an MBA, but the on-the-job education I received along the way was far more valuable. Bob & Juanita may not have had a formal executive training program, but they certainly positioned me to be influenced by the right people and to be exposed to information and situations that prepared me to be the future decision maker for employee- related matters. In my role, I have had a front seat to the multiple acquisitions that have grown our footprint across the map and entrenched us as a major player in the commercial tire market. When reflecting on the last 19 years, I have tremendous pride knowing Purcell Tire is growing and thriving in a market that has swallowed so many of our competitors. Our collective commitment to success, our resolve in making responsible, disciplined decisions, and our pursuit of the best talent in the tire industry have all paid dividends to every employee of this company. I was blessed to find a job with an organization with such a rich history and such phenomenal people, and I am proud to play a small part in the continuance of that legacy.
